First social day went off well even though there wasn't much swell about,crew did good.

  Small break on the rocks inside the ladies and the big high tide really suited the 2ft S/E swell.

  Alot of effort put into costumes this year even though there was a worrying trend to cross dressing. As Pete said, "when in doubt, change about".

  From grommets to old fellas they all had a go and there mothers will know,as most were there! Old fellas new the call and turned upwith a few planks and rescue boards bound together to make raft.

  BBQ was superb and cooked on char grill by Chef Gaz Back. Garry did the old fishes and bread trick and fully fead the massive crew that ascended the contest site right on cue. You would be surprised at the smelling skill of some of the local crew,smell a bbq at 5 miles easy.

  Dan Lowe ran the iron man comp with his devit mind on the boil. Dan added some Tabasco sauce to the pies and at one stage the seagulls eating the pies when un attented had to bail for some liquid refreshment. Anyhow it started off with a scull of diet roze for the grommets and some hearty larger frm Belgium called McChoffe at 8.5% alchol,like dark brown champane says Chris Davis. Then run to flags and disrupt as many people on the way,who would argue with local welter weight champ Paul Picton. Back for the warm pies and then a sprint/wade around sailors rock. Then suddenly in a blink of an eye was Mitch Revers and over took the pack and reeled in Pico to grab the Iron man title for the coming season.

  Raffle went off and prizes from P.D.'s,Egans.M.R. and Sandbah.

  Big hand to Paul Picton and Chris Davis for supplying refreshments and Charles Peterson for the most importent sausages. Best discribed as an overall Team Effort,many hands make light work.

  All over by lunchtime and next comp is on 22 Feb due to some of the club member having other contests on.
