MALE, Feb 26 (HNS) - Hulhumale Development Corporation (HDC) has revealed the costs of 100 one room flats and 64 four room raw houses being built in Hulhumale.

The points giving criteria for the applicants who want to buy those flats or houses was revealed as well.

As HDC revealed, a person who wants to buy a one room flat can follow any one of three methods. If the buyer is willing to pay all at once the cost is Rf 211,800. If not paying all at once a down payment of 20 percent of the total cost, which is Rf 42,360 can be paid. After paying the down payment Rf 1,525 should be paid each month for 20 years. The third way is not paying the down payment but paying Rf 1,900 per month for 20 years. The floor area of a one room flat is 29 square meters.

One rooms flats each consists of a sitting room, a kitchen and a toilet. The construction of the flats and houses costs Rf 76 million.

A four room raw house can be bought for Rf 1,127,400. The down payment is 20 percent of the total cost which is Rf 225,480. After paying the down payment Rf 8,115 should be paid monthly for 20 years. A four room raw house is designed to have two floors. The total floor area of each of those houses in 125 square meters.

The ground floor of each raw house consisting of three floors is left as an open space. The first floor of each raw house has one room, a sitting room, a toilet and a kitchen.

Seven points are considered when selling the houses and flats made using a loan taken from Housing Finance Development Corporation (HDFC).

They include being from Male, being over 18 years old and giving up a land plot in Male or an island smaller than 600 square feet which the applicant owns or might get through inheritance.

HDC’s Director Mahjoobu Shujau said that the application forms will be available from March 25 till April 13.

Application forms will be available from district offices of Male.

The forms have to be submitted from March 6 to April 13.
