MALE, Jan 26 (HNS) - Maldives Police Services have said that counterfeit notes of Rf 384,000 have been found in a guest house during an operation carried out following a report that counterfeit money was in cycle.

Police said Thursday that three people have been arrested in connection the case and that the notes which they apprehended were Rf 500 notes.

However police did not say who were arrested or from which guest house the fake money notes were found.

Police said that since the matter is being investigated further information cannot be disclosed at the moment.

Police said that the money which was found in the guest house was packed in large bundles and that those notes looked resembled currency real notes a lot.

Police said that counterfeit money is in cycle and urged people to be careful. Police request that if any information related to fake notes is available it be reported to police.
