MALE, Jan 22 (HNS) – Haveeru Daily has introduced an educational award called “Haveeru Atoll Scholarship.”
The award was announced and introduced by Haveeru Chairman Dr. Mohamed Zahir Hussain at the “Haveeru Awards Night” ceremony held at Dharubaaruge Friday night.
He said that the award was introduced to give those students in the atolls who want to study the opportunity to do higher studies.
The student who wins the award will be allowed to study in Center for Higher Secondary Education (CHSE) in Male to do the Advance Levels, and all the educational materials will be provided by Haveeru. Apart from that tuition fee, food, accommodation and medical allowance will also be given to the award winner by Haveeru.
This award will be awarded to one child each year from this year onwards.
The award winner will be the child who did O’ Levels in an atoll O’ Level center or through a center and gets the highest grades.
The award winner will be chosen according to standards set by the Education Ministry and standards set by Haveeru Daily.
The first child to win the Haveeru Atoll Scholarship will be the child who gets the highest grades from those who did O’ Levels from the O’ Level centers in the atolls.
Haveeru Atoll Scholarship is an award arranged by “Haveeru Multimedia Resource Group” which is established among Haveeru staff. Contrary to the awards currently given by Haveeru the educational award will be funded directly by Haveeru budget. |
