Six Maldivians killed in Hajj stampede

MALE, Jan 14 (HNS) - Six Maldivian pilgrims were killed Thursday when pilgrims hurled pebbles at symbols of Satan during the annual Muslim pilgrimage in Saudi Arabia.

All of them were women who went to Saudi Arabia for Hajj under Zaeema Hajj Group.

The six women who passed away are; Aishath Ahmed Mohamed and Aminath Hassan Moosa of South Huvadhu Atoll Madaveli, Shaheema Hassan Ali of Galolhu Five Star, Hawwa Hassan Mohamed of Maafannu Maahina, Shamsunnisa Moosa Adam of South Ari Atoll Omadhoo and Sameera Hussain Ibrahim of Mulaku Atoll Mulaku.

The deceased have been buried in Mecca Friday.
